Auckland fun

I was in Auckland, the city of sails from last Wed to Monday. Had heaps of fun meeting up with Rebec and being the ultimate lightbulb during the Pancakes' pak-tohing sessions. haha! So lazy to type up everything we did, so here are a few photos to do the talking. 349 photos taken in total btw.

Meeting up with dear Rebec Lee at little high street. Her hair definitely looks much straighter. haha!

At her room; playing with her sophisticated (& presumably expensive) tool for opto. See I don't even know the name of that thing... Look at the EYE poster behind!

Rebec taught us how to play Gin Rummy, so fun!

and we went out to have oily, yet super yummy crispy duck on rice.

Yum char-ing; ordered a durian smoothie, which apparently is the specialty at the restaurant. Quite pricey though, it came to $80+ for the 4 of us.

Cool art on display along High St. Yeah, ouch.

Ah, the brand names.

Then we went off to Parnell after the trip to Mission Bay. Managed to catch the beautiful sunset. Everything just looks so much more picturesque there. Even the clock is classier.

Just a few of the silly pics we took at Parnell. Imitating the toilet sign.

Art on the floor! So cute right

Another sunset pic at Parnell.

Digging into the ice cream at a korean bbq restaurant at mid city. Had dinner with William W, Tao, and the pancake family.

Took a few pictures at the IMAX cinema (until we got told off haha!)
When will wallE be released?

Canai doing his thing.

The nut bag is MINE!!!

Planned on going kayaking, but couldn't due to strong winds.
mission bay. We look so happy

we're free!!! I like this shot a lot, ignoring my slightly weird expression

Lo and behold, Doulos MV stopped by at Auckand! Parked behind Hilton hotel some more, haha! Bought more than 12 books (most of the Left Behind series), and a couple cds (still yet to listen to). The books were so cheap! ($8 each for the left behind books, hard cover le!)

On doulos, looking over the harbour bridge.

Those 6 days of fun seemed so far away already, now that I'm back here in super cold Dunedin (it snowed for like, 10 minutes yesterday -__-), waking up to the cold, and going to work. Sometimes I wonder why I'm still working: I don't really NEED the money, I don't get enough study time, always rushing between work and lectures and labs, plus it's not related to my course, and work is a 30-min walk from home (5 mins by bus- $1.20 for bus fare); then again it looks good on my CV, gives me extra pocket money for traveling purposes, and err nothing more. Even the cons outweigh the pros.

I'm nervous about the exam results coming out.

I'm nervous about not being able to get the internship in A*Star.

I should call the researchers tomorrow, and convince them to employ me. eeks.
