Just in case I lose my memory in the future... These are some (MANY) things that happened during National Service in Kem Bumimas Siri 2/2005. From 13 March to 24 May 2005.
caution: do not read unless extremely bored. very very long n "loso". yeah u know me
~arrived at my new home for the next 2 months wif Yvonne. sad, nervous, n excited as well.
~divided into new different "kompeni". a proud member of the BRAVO company. new hostel too: Mata Kucing
~complains that there's too many bumiputeras in my hostel. wants more Chinese frens. in short, grumble grumble grumble
~physical activities start. marching for long hours under e hot sun. complain even more. getting more dark.
~got closer to e gals in my hostel. got along quite well wif Karen, Hua, n Siew Yong. still miss home n food. n mummy
~silang budaya class finishes. kelas kenegaraan starts. my teacher's pretty. haha. the lovely cikgu Mastini
~chat a lot wif Ah Pek in class. advises him to quit smoking n be a good boy. haha.
~saw a cute (ahem) guy in Alpha kompeni. took a picture with e guy (Jimmy). really awkward. haha. started msging wif him
~the whole camp practically knew dat i have a crush on Jimmy. no face ar! i think he knows too. bleh. dun care
~Ah Pek's gang started calling me "da sao". He started getting protective of me. kinda flattered but he's not my type of guy
~kelas kenegaraan ended. cried when i hugged cikgu Mastini. gonna miss her so much.
~a surprise party in my class for Cikgu Mastini. the cake fight began. face n hair all covered with oily icing.
~enjoyed "flying fox". loved rakit n kayaking. started to like physical training. trained hard for marching competition between companies
~many sports competition went on. BRAVO girls rocked! yeah~ *e guys were ok la...*
~had a major fight wif Felicia. went on for at least 2 days. so stupid. then we made up n laughed about it *smiles*
~something went wrong between Camy n I since she found out about Jimmy. stopped talking to her. she tried getting more attention from Jimmy
~Bian Tai became famous for his scream. dun even ask. he stares at people too much.
~dun like e new class, "pembinaan karakter". miss kelas kenegaraan n frens in e class.
~NS ending soon. a strong bond built between all my frens (no matter wat race n religion) n I.
~duet choir presentation wif Siew Yong, "More than words". Chung on guitar. so embarrassed coz of terrible sound system. Ah Pek tried to cheer me up. haha. but all's good.
~(maybe) began to show a lil interest towards Chung. talked a lot to Ck n him. Jimmy n Bian Tai kept bugging me.
~Kenny gave me a few important tips. haha. supports me all the way. such a cool fren
~the funniest moment in history happened. Mok, Ck, Chung, Vincent did a stupid ballet dance in front of 400+ people. Dressed in plastic spaghetti straps n paper-made skirts. laughed histerically when Ck's skirt fell down. almost fell off my chair. stomach muscle ached for laughing too much
~had a new best fren. LUCY! go Lucy. she found a bf. haha.
~I received presents! woohoo. A ring, 2 bracelets, a keychain, an earring. love them.
~We won e marching n obstacle course competition! wao almost pengsan during obstacle but e joy is even incomparable. on cloud nine. guys got no.2 in marching n won obstacle
~BRAVO r champions again!!! lotsa hampers n trophies. took many pictures
~community service started. going home in 2 days. so sad. dun wanna go home. dun wanna leave my frens and kem Bumimas
~took an (ahem) cozy picture wif Chung. he put his hand over my shoulder! haha. me being immature again
~Vincent told (i think) Chung how i felt about him. face reddened.
~sigh sigh. packed my things to head back to Kuching. cried again. cried myself to sleep the night before. saw Lucy crying also.
~last few minutes in Kem Bumimas, my 2nd home. Chung n Ah Pek shook hands wif me for e last time. sigh again. saw Jimmy wiping a tear(?). Bian Tai with his puppy eye look. sheesh make me cry even more
~took last pictures of my beloved home. left on 24 May. not for 1 second regretted National Service. Thanked God for placing me in this special program.
I am truly blessed. and so are thousands of other national service trainees.
Will remember n cherish these 2 months forever. If God allows, might meet with my frens there again. Somewhere, somehow I believe.
