My day as a bunny

Today I am a bunny.

Sorry la Chok, I stole your position just for a day. Being a bunny sure is tough.

Why am I a bunny? Well, two weeks earlier, I signed up at Student Job Search (who suspended my account for not following the stupid rules. long story) for a one-off job. It's a street collection job, working for Safe organisation (one of those animal welfare organisations that protests against animal cruelty). The pay is $10.25 per hour plus 10% commission of the collection by the way.

Anyway, May and I agreed to do the job for today and tomorrow, with a total of 18 hours, thinking that it'll be fun dressing up in animal costumes while collecting donations from the public.

You can almost predict what will happen next, right?

So there I am, dressed in a bunny suit (complete with the freaking EARS) on George Street between the National bank and the entrance of Meridian mall (translation: in the middle of the city where everyone will see me). White suit, pink ears, a bright blue fluffy vest, a silly bucket with "She needs your help" printed on it, and stickers to give to donors.

Go on, laugh at me.

It's not very funny when the temperature is less than 10 degrees with cold southwest winds blowing right into my face.

What's more, some people find it very amusing. Ya, it might be for a while but it gets annoying. For example, one guy said "Love you, bunny!", and a group of young people threw 20 cents from a car passing by. Thank goodness by some kind people who are willing to donate 10 dollars and ask if I'm warm enough or not.

So there you go, my most embarrassing experience this year so far. Just to save my face when I go to uni next year, I decided to end my shift at noon and cancel the shift tomorrow. =P
