The thin/fat hypothesis

Hypothesis or fact?

Fat people who study overseas eventually become thin,
Fat people who don't study overseas still stay fat;
Thin people who study overseas eventually become fat,
Thin people who don't study overseas still stay thin.

Generally, I mean.

Is it because of the larger portions of food found elsewhere other than at home? Or is it because we have no choice but to finish our food just to be polite? Or, we HAVE to finish all our food since the price of food is super expensive and throwing it away seem wasting? Or does it have to do with climate? Or because of a lower metabolism rate?

If it's climate that's causing the weight gain, what about those that seriously lost a lot of weight overseas? Self-descipline? If it is the price, wouldn't cheaper food stimulate people to buy more and eat more? I'm confused.

Also, fat translates differently when you're at another country. Back at home, the 38 aunties will tell my mum, "Wah, your daughter become so fat ar! Just like my little chubby son!". Wah, aunty, for your information, stop saying things like that to other people if you don't want to get a super chubby daughter-in-law! Fine, I might have gained a few extra spare tyres, but you don't have to embarrass me in front of your son and my mum, ok?!

At the mean time, 1000 miles apart, the locals will comment on how thin I am. =____= As much as I want to believe that second opinion, it will never be a fact. I came here, I ate more, Studholme fed me more, I metabolise less, I see more and eat more again. The freaking cycle continues until someday I decide that it's time to start dieting, or if there's a cute guy that's worth losing all those fat for. Meh.

Onto a different topic. Congrats to my fav ever football player ever- PAUL SCOLES for scoring on his 500th game for Man United!!! Consistency, ROONEY, is what you need. Learn from the pro!
