Almost there

Need air. Need space. Need time alone, away from the lab- which I seem to be spending about 9 hours per day in.

A few more experiments to go- yipee! Not that I hate running experiments, but the routine and feeling of utter disappointment of NOT getting good results is tiring. Though I'm comforted by the PhD students in the lab saying that having all your experiments work out "the way it should" doesn't necessarily mean 1st class honours. It is science, anyway. I guess if you think about it, expecting something to work a certain way isn't much of a discovery. So yeah, I'm about 95% done with my lab work (the extremely high costs of me running each experiment seem to limit that), so I'll probably be done by next week.

I'm still going back to the lab on a Saturday (tomorrow) though- gosh I feel like a nerd. A lab nerd.

Got my draft for introduction back from my supervisor, with heaps of correction on it :P which is a good thing though, he's very thorough and precise with what I need to change to make it more comprehensible and being the perfect intro to my results/discussion. Next- methods/materials/results due by the Monday after next.

Well, at least things are slowly falling into place now.

*deep breath*

Year end Aussie trip seems unlikely now. Don't be too surprised if I end up going to Egypt for a random tour trip instead. Fresh air in a totally different environment/country would do me good. Or maybe even dreaming about it tonight might help.

Other than that, I'm in perfect health. No swine flu. No coughs. Surprise, surprise- perfect health all winter this year. Yay to seasonal flu jabs, not sure if being in a lab so often helped me gained immunity to the bugs though. Mum totally made my day yesterday when I received the parcel (full of maggi mee and 5-in-1 instant coffee MMMMMM) from Malaysia, with a note attached "Don't waste! Can claim from you! love Mum" (something alone the line). Mum even included the receipt of the stuff she bought to claim the cost from me :P How cute, right?

It's times like these when I miss family :) Can't wait for mum and dad to come over end of this year for my graduation YAY!
