I can't wait for this movie- "My Lovely Bones" to be released in December.

Directed by Peter Jackson, with big names including Mark Wahlberg (he had me at "Planet of the Apes", as sad and depressing the ending was) and Rachel Weisz (totally enchanting in "The Fountain" with the hunky Hugh Jackman)- yeap I'm a big movie buff.

Synopsis of the movie:

An adaptation of the Alice Sebold best-selling novel, "The Lovely Bones" tells the story of Susie Salmon, who is murdered, but continues to observe her family on Earth after her death. Although she is detached from the world she once knew, Susie witnesses the impact of her loss on her loved ones, whilst her killer skillfully covers his tracks and prepares to murder again. In a tone that is both emotionally truthful, and darkly humorous, Susie tries to balance her desire for vengeance against the love she feels for her family and her need to see them heal; and ultimately comes to understand that the concept of family can encompass both the living and the dead.
Watch the official trailer here- Peter Jackson even gave an intro of it (gosh he's so skinny now!)

It kind of reminds me of the movie "What dreams may come", actually- which is, of course, one of my all time favourites. Thanks Lenik for recommending me that movie years ago!

I've always wanted to read the novel- seen it around the bookstores but never got around to buying it as I was busy collecting/reading all the Jodi Picoult books heheh. Trademe has a few selling for $10 or less, might just get one copy since the library doesn't stock new books.

I love watching movies. There's one for every occassion, one to evoke every emotion possible. I love my movies without interruption; which is why I do get slightly annoyed if the person next to me asks me heaps of questions on what's happening in the middle of one (IMDB gives great reviews and plot summaries). Anyway, I went to watch the movie "Maria Larssons eviga ögonblick" aka "Everlasting Moments", a Swedish/Finnish movie about photography just now- absolutely brilliant and I left the Regent theatre with a smile and a greater appreciation for art & history :) I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
