Erm. Better not read this first if you want to but haven't watch the movie "crash".
"Crash" is truly one of a kind. It deals with the shocking, brutal everyday issues that nobody dares to talk about. It was mainly focused on racial issues in the US, but also depicts how cruel people are and what they are willing to do to just live a normal live.
The word that would best describe this movie is "karma". What goes around comes around. What you do now, no matter how small it is, affects something or someone else, in a big or small way. Another thing that appeals to me was how each character links to the other, though some may find it rather confusing, but I found it really intriguing.
It doesn't really have a happy or sad ending, but in a way its both a happy and sad ending. I won't go into details, but I was touched by one particular scene when the little girl jumps into her father's arms to protect him because she thinks that he doesn't have the invisible protection cloak. At that moment when the Persian guy pulls the trigger, I gasped and waited for the worst. haha. How ironic it is when the gun was actually loaded with blanks...
Out of 10, I give it a 9. You can't really understand the whole concept until you're half way through the movie. Well, at least for me. But the idea, message, and characters were outstanding, breathtaking nevertheless. Overall, great movie but not everyone will like it. Sure has oscars written all over it.
