just read

While the Chinese community celebrates new year this week, million others are suffering right at this very moment. Think about it. While you were busy visiting, wearing new clothes, receiving ang-pows, watching fireworks, or feasting on the nice food, there are people out there who have lost the reason to live.

Not long ago, I read a story about a man. A man who lost his whole family- his wife and 5 children. There was a picture of this middle aged man, burrying his youngest, and prettiest daughter in the muddy fields which was once his beloved village. In tears, he said that he has no more meaning to live. Before Dec 26, he worked hard everyday to earn a living for his family. But now, the money he worked for is of no use, for there is no more family to look after, to love. And so is the hundreds of widowers in his village.

Sometimes we do take things for granted. We already have so much, but still yearn for more. Never satisfied. What is happening to all of us? Are we waiting for a disaster to strike us to appreciate what we have?
"You spent thousands on fireworks display, yet gave only 10 ringgit for church offerings..." A pastor in Sibu said to the congregation. It's sad, but true. When will we ever change? Hopefully in this new year, a miracle may happen...

~just something I had always wanted to blog about but couldn't find the time to~
