What went on today: Dad's bdae (no cake though, just simple dinner), last minute reading notice (aiks), last minute (again!) keyboard notice, Unca Chris's bdae celebration, Darryl back for hols, great round of badminton, and NEW pair of sport shoes. All was equally fun and had made this day fairly exciting. haha!
Yep, Darryl's back from UK (no...not Ulu Kapit la) for a 1 week holiday break. Very short, eh. Hmm...to me, he hasn't changed a bit. He still has that cool rugged look. Always a spiritual, God-fearing person. Very warm person, too. hehe. Apparently, he's found a job there as a civil engineer. Monthly salary: 1100 pounds. Woah...
Anyway, he shared with us about choices. Yep, that simple thing that we have to make every single second. Whether we realise it or not, we are surrounded by choices everytime. We choose what to wear, what to say, what to eat etc. But do we know how important each and every single decision we make? Before I get out of topic, main thing is that every choice we do must be a reflection of God in our lives, so that others can see and will follow and respect us.
Here's a song from 1 of my fav artists, Sarah McLachlan. "World on Fire". A song about what REALLY is happening in our corrupted world today, urging us all to help play our small part to make this world a better place to live in.
Hearts are worn in these dark ages
You're not alone in this story's pages
Night has fallen amongst the living and the dying
And I try to hold it in, yeah I try to hold it in
The world's on fire and
It's more than I can handle
I'll tap into the water
(I try to pull my ship)
I try to bring more
More than I can handle
(Bring it to the table)
Bring what I am able
I watch the heavens and I find a calling
Something I can do to change this moment
Stay close to me while the sky is falling
Don't wanna be left alone, don't wanna be alone
Hearts break, hearts mend
Love still hurts
Visions clash, planes crash
Still there's talk of
Saving souls, still the cold
Is closing in on us
We part the veil on our killer sun
Stray from the straight line on this short run
The more we take, the less we become
A fortune of one that means less for some
